Iourn Home > Timelines > The Great Upheavel

The weeks of Mizzle Month and Dark Days 204 were a period of change and disaster for the land of Norandor. One king died, a regent came and went, and a new king ascended to the throne at the same moment a terrible war against the Undead began in the northlands. Historians looking back years later refer to this period as The Great Upheavel, as it changed Norandor forever.

Stepping outside Iourn for a moment, this was also the most confusing part of the game to GM and probably to play. The tale was told over six adventures in four different campaigns between 27 April and 4 December 2002. Ten different players controlled twenty-four different player characters (mostly de Chesirés)! And if that wasn't complicated enough, the games weren't run in chronological order. A sequential timeline of these events has never been brought together. Until now....

This section of the site correlates and re-presents key events of The War of the Norandon Succession, The Rising Tide, The Fist of Maglubiyet, The Gauntlet of Rammon Cha, The Painted Lady and The Horn of Deliverance. It also includes new information that you will not find elsewhere. Hopefully by the end you will be somewhat clearer on what is transpiring in everyone's favourite kingdom. Although this is a definitive timeline, the story isn't over yet! The ride of the Twelve against Sarakite and further adventures of Brack, Nicos and Arvan that wind in and out of the Path Perfidious campaign have yet to be added. As this page is absorbed into the new Timeline section all these events will be added.

Those fallen are raised as more zombies. Northmeet faces war on all fronts and a self-replenishing army that they cannot seem to stop.
