Point:
- The remaining members of the coven of eighty harpies cease hostilities
and demand parley with Elias.
- Elias speaks with Tears-at-Flesh, the harpy matriarch.
- Elias proposes that he allows the harpies to live within Jotan's
Point as long as they acknowledge him as their leader and obey
his laws. Drasha does not think this is a good idea.
- The harpies will not accept any control from the clanlord unless
he can be seen to "understand" them. After a brief discussion
Elias volunteers to dwell with the harpies for four weeks and
live as they live. When asked afterwards, Elias can't for the
life of him remember how this happened.
- Elias has also agreed to move to this aberrant kibbutz the following
day. Suddenly his timetable has to be rewritten. He realises he
has to follow through with his promise to the Teeth of Io to curtail
the worship of Io in the town.
- He has a solution that he will present to the religious leaders
in the morrow. Drasha doesn't believe in inventing religions (or
even reinventing them) and she doesn't approve of her husbands
actions.
- However, she does stand by him, although she insists that the
importance of the Moon Gods should not be overlooked.

speaks of the Elyastic faith that he shares and tries to tie ancient
Hadradan beliefs to it. The religion is largely unchanged, but
the nature of the deity has been redefined.
- Following this, Elias turns over the running of the clanhold
to Drasha. He promises to hold his grand conclave when he returns
from his sojurn with the harpies.
- At dusk, Elias presents himself to Tears-at-Flesh.

- Covered in blood and ichor, a truly disgusted Elias limps home
