A stubborn dwarf, a practical joke and the merest breath of Fate and suddenly everything takes on a very different complexion. When the portals between Ündrachis and Celestar meet in spectacular fashion, the Chosen of Narramac are propelled into unexpected and dangerous territory. Two of the Guardians of Concordance have been loosed in a realm shunned by even the Teeth of Io, and only Nicos Allumière can bring them back alive! It's a race against time as increasingly bold malificents press against Norandor and Tibrai, and the Chosen must decide if this unlooked for detour is a distraction or a golden opportunity.
