Iourn Home > Gazetteer > Maldomoor

Very little is known about the land called Maldomoor. What reports have filtered through to the Norandon court have come via the Auld Kingdom and their truthfulness cannot be vouched for. The dwarves of the Auld Kingdom speak of a vast country of tundra and steppes as large as Norandor and as united. They speak of huge armies made up of warriors twice the size of the humans to the east, who are well armed and well trained. They drill and practise the art of war continuously as if preparing for a conflict that will see the end of the world.

The only truths held about the Maldomoori with any degree of certainty is that they are alien, and they are dangerous. They may be a race of half-giants (or even true giants), they may be servants of evil, they may even be elves in disguise; the fact is that no one knows. It is known that their language is not derived from Hadradan and that their culture (what little has been seen) has nothing to do with the Hadradan Empire. Whatever they are, they were the only force on the continent whom the Hadradans could no conquer - alone that fact gives many pause. The Maldomoori speak a strange and unintelligible language; they use the U'Garrad alphabet that was only thought to be used by the people of Vikallia. In short, they are an enigma....

Urova's greatest fear is that one day they will be an enigma no more....
