The generic D&D game has a prodigious list of core and prestige
classes. Although I'll stick my neck out and say all of these classes
exist on Iourn, they may not be available in all campaigns. In fact
I have a tendency to rather limit the choices available to players
in order to run again that has a particular 'feel', is set in a
particular place or goes in a certain direction. In this section,
I present background information for the main character classes.
I explain where and how these classes fit into the Iourn setting,
and what sort of background information players need to take into
account before playing a certain class.
Game-related information and house rule changes are only included
if I am presenting a new class unique to the world of Iourn (these
are listed at the bottom of the page). Otherwise, game rule information
is presented in the Character
Class section of the D&D site. For the most part I have
tried to divorce the mechanics from the description. Iourn is, at
its heart, generic D&D so any background information you read
in sourcebooks such as Complete Warrior or Masters of the Wild
is also likely to apply here. However, please ask before making
any assumptions.
This section is a work in progress. At present I have given the
bare bones of most of the character classes simply because I haven't
had the time or the inclination to expand them before now. As time
passes I will add further information to this section. In the meantime
the information here is pretty much unchanged from the first incarnation
of the website, even if it is in a slightly different format.
