Pact: A slightly less common
name for The Great Pact.
Palamir: One of the soldiers
in the retinue of Baron Tannith Swift who came to Bear's Reach on
30 Chillbone 204. He pursued Vitor Grushko into the Whittenwood
on 35 Chillbone. It is not known whether he still lives.
Palgrave House: Residence of
Fenton Pryde. Located in Chapel Lane.
Parish: In many religions the
parish is the smallest unit of ecclesiastical authority. It is normally
defined by the presence of a single temple or church to a specific
religion.
Parvan [initiate]: Aged and powerful
druid of the Kerikite Circle, who refused to stand for membership
of the Inner Circle. Parvan is the druid of the area surrounding
Kovar in northern Kerikal. He was trusted with the care of the infant
Arvan when it became clear that Arvan's grandfather, Gilvan Goldenmane,
wanted to butcher the baby. Parvan smuggled Arvan into the arms
of the Norandon Circle, where he was raised a druid. Parvan and
Arvan did not meet again until 27th Midsummer 204, when Arvan returned
to Kerikal to face the evil in the Plains of Acheron. Parvan fought
alongside the Chosen is the great battle against Tular adn his orcs.
He survived to mourn Arvan.
Patricia [Lady]: Inexperienced
paladin of the Righteous Order of the Eternal Light. Joined Narramac's
grand quest and teamed with fellow paladins Garnir, Zender, Lowron
and Cardon as well as the cleric Inictious. She was defeated in
honourable single combat by Minsc on 5th Brightday 204. Brave and
daring, Patricia's abilities do not match her zest for adventure.
Not yet, anyway. She helped to slay the dragon Furnice on 21st Suntask
204.
Paxas I [king]: King of Norandor
from 121 to 125 LE.
Paxas II [king]: King of Norandor
from 125 to 131 LE.
Pearl: Very expensive dining
establishment located close to Chapel Lane in Uris. Jhasik stiffed
them on a bill once.
Pegwillen [marquess]: Powerful,
if sullen, figure in Norandon society. Rules the marquessate of
Braxton, but spends much of his time in Uris at the royal court.
He is a strong supporter of Jeolin as the next king of Norandor.
People of the Dream: Members of the Monastery of the Seventh Moon
who hold true to the original (and forgotten) teachings laid down
by Abbot Logen - to seek out the Moontouched and use them against
the moon faiths. The People of the Dream have always been commanded
by the ancient gnome, Zookie. However, they currently number only
seven.
Persephariel the Gold: Dragon and scholar who lived in ancient times
and wrote The Theology of Dragons. Dralcarnus did not trust the
dragon's interpretation of events.
Pessilroot: A special root that
when powdered and mixed with certain secret ingredients can be used
to force a polymorphed creature back into their original form. The
secret of making this item is known only to the Inner Circles of
the druidic order.
Phezek: Became initiate of the
Norandon Circle of the druidic Order on 25th Lollmeadow 204, after
successfully completeing a quest in the Wraith Haunt. He succeeded
in this endeavour with Ariai, Yosef and Olna.
Pirren: Druidic initiate of the
Kerikite Circle who fought the forces of evil in the Plains of Acheron
during Midsummer 204.
Pits of Walhoon: Gnome kingdom
ruled by King Stumbleduck. The Pits are a collection of gigantic
holes in the ground found in sourtherly Junos. Inside these pits
are Urova's largest subterranean kingdom. All manner of gnomes live
together in the Pits and they have created many technological marvels.
The gnomes of the pits have very little contact with the outside
world.
PL: Abbreviation for "Pre-Lunar". On the Urovan calendar
the suffix PL after a year indicates that it occurred prior to the
coming of the gods.
Plains of Acheron: Area of land
in northern Kerikal taken and held by the armies of the Land of
the League of Tooth and Claw. The Plains are ruled by the orc, Goretooth.
The dark nexus of defiling matter, spoken of by Archdruid Raldan
on 25th Lollmeadow, is somewhere in these lands. The Chosen of Narramac
and their allies entered the plains on 32nd Midsummer 204. Four
days later they fought a terrible battle that drove the cause from
the plains, but could not restore the plains to their verdent beauty.
Players: A ring of standing stones
located on Scarman Rise, roughly three miles from Bear's Reach.
The ring is extremely old, predating the formation of Bear's Reach
in 40 LE and he oral history of the barbarians who lived there before.
Plensis: Priest of Mortis from
the Watchers on the Cusp of Oblivion. Joined Narramac's grand quest
of Brightday 204 and was teamed with Illtilmus, Chargek, Morgan,
Yargon and Toomor. Plensis continued to have dealings with Iltilmus
after the quest, although the reasons for this remain unknown.
Plif: A truly bizarre fey race
who ressemble pink-furred rabbits with ears thrice the length of
the body and eyes the size of saucers. Plif live their lives backwards
through time, supposedly rising from the dead and reverse-experiencing
life into embryo-hood. The souls of Manacus, Kak, Isiah de Chesiré
and Jass were bound to plif on 46 Suntask 204, allowing them to
travel back to the death of Ulish Van Caspan and act as observers.
It is their most bizarre adventure to date.
Pol [druid]: Druid of the Kerikite
Inner Circle. Pol is an alaghi, a shaggy yeti-like beast. In common
with his race, he has a deep affinity for nature, hence his outrage
at the events in the Plains of Acheron during the summer of 204
LE.
Polginshire: County of Norandon
located in the duchy of Enfiladé. Ruled by Count Yulgin Sulcare.
Posst, Noryan [count]: Once count
of Hessex. Died in the early spring of 122 LE.
Prince: A dark and mysterious
creature. The Prince is a giant composed of pure darkness. Once
a nightwalker, now he is much more than that. Favoured by Karatath,
The Prince has become the Dark One's greatest champion in the realm.
Many believe he was one of the lieutenants once trapped with Karatath.
In any event, the prince's own considerable powers have been greatly
augmented, and he marshals the Malificents that prostrate themselves
before the Aegis. The Prince is also rumoured to have the power
to be anywhere in the Great Dark in an instant.
Pryde, Fenton: The king-pin of
crime in Uris, and (allegedly)the man responsible for masterminding
the theft of the Heart of Llysallian from Ashardon. Pryde is a well-spoken
man or pleasant manners. He dwells in the Palgrave Estate in Chapel
Lane. He was first encountered by the Chosen of Narramac on 45th
Suntask 204. They owe him a favour, and Fenton Pryde always collects
his favours. Ravenna cleared her Uncle Jashik's debts with Fenton
Pryde on 24 Heathaze 204, using Elias's money.
Pug: One of the soldiers in the
retinue of Baron Tannith Swift who came to Bear's Reach on 30 Chillbone
204. With Merban, ordered to roll the globe containing Tam to safety.
The pair also carried Tarn brewer to the gaol on 32 Chillbone when
they were set upon by Mab Brewer. Pug's genitals were mercilessly
pummelled by Mab, until she could be removed. He pursued Vitor Grushko
into the Whittenwood on 34 Chillbone. It is not known whether he
still lives.
Pulpit: A large stone dais that
stands before the Tomb of Kings, on the Hill of Heroes in Uris.
In ages past it was used by kings to address their people.
Pute: Üganthé chieftan
of the Dragon's Teeth tribe. Pute probably has a bit of orc somewhere
in his ancestry. That is the only explanation as to how he can be
so incredibly ugly. Pute commanded one hundred of his tribesmen
in the fight against Tular, the orcs and the Dark on 34th Midsummer
204.
Pyrus: Title of respect given
to any member of the Church of Fire who is neither First Flame nor
Firewalker.
