Habbakuk: A skeletally thin and toothless wolf of advanced years, apparently kept as a pet by the wizard Trevane for the last ten seasons. No-one in the village knew of its existence (not even Trevane's pupil, Arax) until Trevane's mysterious departure from the town on 30 Chillbone 204. Habbakuk seems to subsist on mashed carrots.

Hadradan Empire: A vast arabic nation of great technical, scientific and magical knowledge. The empire spread throughout most of the northern world during the last years of the pre-lunar calendar. It was eventually fractured by an invading army of Mannenites from south of Belsinor's Girdle.

Hadras: Capital city of the Hadradan Empire.

Hairyfoot, Stouty: Blood-thirsty, goblin-hater and all-round dodgey hobbit, Niergan's choice to include Stouty on the mission to Underbarron may have been an error. His murderous tendencies led to him being isolated from the group.

Hall of Dragons: A huge transcept in Ashardon lined with dragon-entwined pillars. The dragons can be animated by the will of Dralcarnus. At the end of the hall is an enormous throne.

Hall of the Maw: Transcept in Ashardon that leads to the Room of Preparation and beyond that to the Maw of Io.

Halsvar: Kerikite warlord and ruler of town of Corinth.

Hanged Man: A seedy riverside tavern in Uris.

Hanilly: The large island beyond the westermost tip of Norandor. Hanilly is part of the kingdom of Norandor, and is ruled as an autonomous marquessate by Marquess Silivor.

Hans: Butcher based in Uris. Owed money by Jhasik.

Harasiham: Duchy of Norandor ruled from Caldeer by Duke Edvax.

Hardock [baron]: Father of the lady Genevieve, lives in his barony approximately fifty miles from Uris.

Harn: Dwarven guide who led the Chosen of Narramac, Sanjay, Archdruid Tular, Warmaster Grimm, his warband and the prisoner Thorangrim from Underbarren and Külhazan between 20th and 26th of Midsummer 204.

Harris [squire]: Squire of Barton in the barony of Umbria.

Haskar: Centaur and druid-initiate of the Norandon Circle. First encountered by the party (3) on 25th Lollmeadow 204. He was in charge of the security at the great moot of this date. He did not make a terribly good job of it.

Haunted Woods: Local name for the infamous forest known widely as the Wraith Haunt.

Heart of Llysallian: Enormous sapphire stolen from Ashardon in Suntask 204 by the late O'Keef. The gem was eventually recovered by the Chosen of Narramac and sent with Drasha back to Ashardon early in Lollmeadow 204. The gem had great magical powers that mimiced the abilities of a Sapphire Dragon. The greatest of these abilities was its talent to read the minds of others; the most annoying was the glass-shattered screech it let out every day at the same time.

Heart of Underbarren: A huge fortress, and seat of King Kontüf, located at the deepest point of Underbarren. The Heart of Underbarren marks the beginning of the The Ways to Kulhâzan. The Heart itself is an enormous fortress, larger than the human castles of Northmeet or even Hillcrest. Many thousands of dwarves call it home.

Hedwig: Elias Raithborne's owl familiar summoned on 31st Brightday 204.

Heena: Gunlarr's wife who died of brainfever in the summer of 203 PL. Part of her body was stolen from the Church of the Watchers in the Village of the Eighteen Churches on 1st Brightday 204 for the purposed of resurrection.

Helm, Alastor: Alchemist based in Uris. One of Jhasik's creditors, he sold the jeweller a silver cage, bell, acids and alchemical supplies totalling almost 400 crowns. There is obviosly some connection between Helm and the Uris nobleman, Ralyon Artusi - on 22nd Heathaze 204 a messenger tried to organise a meeting between the two. What the relationship is, and how Jhasik fits into the equation, is yet to be revealed.

Helmut: One of the soldiers in the retinue of Baron Tannith Swift who came to Bear's Reach on 30 Chillbone 204. He pursued Vitor Grushko into the Whittenwood on 35 Chillbone. It is not known whether he still lives.

Herurr: Large port in Junos.

Hessex: County of Norandor once ruled by Count Caled, but now ruled by Count Bumbrey Dolanz.

Hester [lady]: Dance partner of Raza de Luna at the ball of 14th Suntask 204. Her services were provided by Chamberlain Alberdark.

Heth: One of the members of the dwarven warband that arrived in Uris on 42nd Suntask 204 searching for murdered of King Evabold of Kulhazan. Returned to Kulhâzan with Grimm and the captive Thorangrim, arriving on 27th Midsummer 204.

High Council of the Moot: Group of druids who meet to decide matters of great importace at a moot. The council is made up of the Inner Circle as well as any advisers they deem necessary. This sometimes includes druids of other circles.

High Holy Witness of Doom: The supreme ruler of the Watchers on the Cusp of Obivion. He is always one of the nine morticors, traditionally the morticor of Norandor. The current holder of the title is His Moribund Majesty, Tarex of Uris.

High Invigilant: Rank in the Arcanum Incognita.

High King: The de facto ruler of the dwarven nation of Gunstadtan. The High King rules all the lesser clan kings from Dunhâzan. The current High King is Goldorro.

High Priest: Commonly the title given to the head of a particular religious faith. Individual titles vary from faith to faith, but high-priest is a helpful catch-all term that everyone understands.

Higham Dip: Deep pool of freshwater located in the Wyrwood, close to the village of Bear's Reach. It is used by the townspeople for swimming in the summer and ice skating in the winter.

Hill of Heroes: Large hill overlooking Uris where the old kings of Norandor are buried in the Tomb of Kings. It is surrounded by an attractive park and gardens. On 25 Heathaze, Narramac conducted the ceremony of the sword on the Hill of Heroes.

Hillcrest: Heavily fortified town in central Norandar. Situated on the only hill for miles around, Hillcrest is unassailable. It is jointly ruled by the four knights Fathlin, Lexva, Ninemen and Rystas.

Hillcrest Road: Road in Norandor that runs form Uris to Caldeer via New Galys and Hillcrest.

His Moribund Majesty: Correct title for the High Holy Witness of the Doom of the faith of the Watchers.

Holy Mountain: Tavern in the Village of the Eighteen Churches run by the hobbit, Miro Bobbin.

Honour: Servant of Squire Osroth of Oakholme, betrothed to Ozrik. Honour was raped and brutalised by Osroth on the 6th Brightday 204. She was avenged by Ravenna and her companions, although she did not want to be helped. Honour was quickly dismissed from the squire's service following this event. The scandal was so great that she was sent to Northmeet where she joined found work with a 'merchant' named Dellan Gant.

Horann: A barony in Kemelicus.

Hounds of Mortis: Order affiliated to the Waters on the Cusp of Oblivion. The Hounds are (alledgely) charged with hunting down and killing anyone who has raised from the dead. Four Hounds set out from the Village on 48th Suntask 204 to find and kill the recently resurrected Manacus.

House of Passing: Temple of the Watchers on the Cusp of Oblivion in the Village of the Eighteen Churches. Destroyed by Bombastics on 4th Brightday 204, but recently rebuilt.

House of Revelation: Chapter house of the Arcanum Incognita located in Uris.

Humbolt, Norris [baron]: Ruler of the barony of the Norandor barony of Elsvich. Humbolt resents the wealth and position enjoyed by Umbria, directly to the north of his lands.

Humil [captain]: De facto leader of the group of warriors and paladins who fought the final battle with the dragon, Furnice on 21st Suntask 204. He is a resident of Vrex Cross and a loyal servant of Duke Vrexax.

Hushon I [king]: King of Norandor from 75 to 79 LE.

Hushon II [king]: King of Norandor from 79 to 88 LE.

Hushon III [king]: King of Norandor from 140 to 143 LE.

Hushon IV [king]: King of Norandor from 143 to 149 LE.
