Falás:
Giant eagle from Kerikal that carried Ravenna from the Laughing
Rock on 27th Midsummer 204.
Faltu, Tomlin:
High priest of the Church of the Land in Uris. Present at the Ceremony
of the Sword on 25 Heathaze 204.
Farmer Adelaide (née Walker):
Thorn Njedelstrom's second cousin by marriage. Adelaide was born
in Winter 193 and married Gellem Farmer when she was nineteen seasons.
She has produced two children, Taran and Edna. Adelaide seems old
before her time. She suffered from brain fever and can no longer
move her left arm. Adelaide studiously ignores her husband's alcoholism.
Farmer, Admas: Second cousin
of Thorn Njedlstrom. The first child of Celia and Carthage Farmer.
Admas died of a fever in spring 192 when he was only two seasons.
Farmer, Alphonse: First child
of Braebree and Helen Farmer, born in Spring 199. Alphonse was married
to Mindy Goodie in Winter 203 and they have one child, Ralph. Alphonse's
main skills lie in the detection and eradication of insect life
in the various crops.
Farmer, Annette (née Craftwright):
Krais Brewer's second cousin by marriage. Annette is the second
youngest of the many Craftwright daughters. She was born in Spring
200, and married Bernie Farmer in Spring 204. They have one daughter,
Babs.
Farmer, Babs: Second cousin once
removed of Krais Brewer. Only daughter of Bernie and Annette Farmer,
born in Spring 204.
Farmer, Bernie: Second cousin
of Krais Brewer. The only son of Sancho and Ellen Farmer, born in
Autumn 199. He was raised with Gertrude Brewer (his second cousin)
who had been taken in after her own parents were killed in a tragic
fire. Bernie looked up to Getrude as his big sister and the pair
are still close. In Spring 204, Bernie married Annette Craftwright.
Later in the same season the pair's first child, Babs, was born.
Farmer, Braebee: Fifth child
of Bobcat and Saskia Farmer, born in Autumn 193. The dogged and
determined Barebree is the only one of the pair's male children
to reach adulthood. He married Helen Fisher in Winter 198 and produced
three children: Alphonse, Davenport and Meg. Braebree is in the
strange position of being the financial and operational head of
the Farmer family, but because he is not the oldest of all his cousins
he does not sit on the village council (that position is held by
his cousin, Gellem).
Farmer, Callum: Second cousin of Thorn Njedelstrom. Callum as born
in Autumn 192 LE, the youngest of Celia and Carthage Farmer's two
children. In Autumn 199 he married Scarlett Lyar - a union that
has thusfar produced three children. Callum is steady and reliable
and performs the role of family patriarch even though it is duty
of his elder brother, Gellem. Callum knows of his brother's alcoholism
but still feels obligued to respect him as an elder sibling.
Farmer, Carthage: Thorn Njedelstrom's uncle by marriage. Born in
Spring 186, he married Celia Njedelstrom summer 191. The union produced
three sons: Admas, Gellem and Callum. Carthage died after suffering
a nasty fall on his farm in Autumn 199, aged fifty-four seasons.
Farmer, Cecelia: Second cousin
once removed of Thorn Njedelstrom. Youngest child of Callum and
Scarlett Farmer, born in the summer of 201 LE. She still lives with
her parents on the Farmer homestead, although she is desperately
impatient for marriage. Cecilia is much like her mother, and seems
to know more about other people's business than she does her own.
Farmer, Celia (née Njedelstrom):
First cousin, once removed of Thorn Njedlstrom. Only daughter and
eldest child of Joseph and Adelina Njedelstrom. Born in Summer 187
she married Carthage Farmer in summer 191 and left the Njedelstrom
family to live on his family farm. She bore him three sons: Admas,
Gellem and Callum. She was widowed in Autumn 199 and died in Spring
204 aged sixty-seven seasons.
Farmer, Davenport: Youngest child
of Braebree and Helen Farmer, born in Autumn 199. Davenport is yet
to marry, and has his sights set on young Maisie Njedelstrom. The
fact Maisie has declared she will never marry has only inspired
him to greater heights of absurdity.
Farmer, Dougray: Second cousin
once remove of Thorn Njedelstrom. Middle child of Callum and Scarlett
Farmer, born in autumn 200. Dougray fancies himself as a poet rather
than a farmer, and spends much of his time dreaming and penning
truly awful pieces of work.
Farmer, Ellen (née Walker):
Krais Brewer's first cousin once removed by marriage. Born in Autumn
194, to parents Percy and Joan, Ellen is the twin sister of Edmund
Walker. Ellen married Sancho Farmer in Summer 198. She has one son,
Bernie, but also raised the orphaned Gertrude Brewer. Ellen is tolerant
of husband's growing collection of eccentricities as long as it
keeps him out of the house.
Farmer, Eloise (née Brewer):
Great-aunt of Krais Brewer. Born in the winter of 187 LE a few moments
after her twin, Mulbrin. Eloise married Nevrish Farmer in Winter
191 and bore three children: Collette, Sancho and Murray. Eloise
died in Autumn 203 when she was kicked by a horse on her farm.
Farmer, Gellem: Second cousin
of Thorn Njedelstrom. The second child of Celia and Cathage Farmer,
Gellem was born in summer 192. In Spring 200 he married Adelaide
Walker. Their union prodcue two children (Edna and Taran) and one
grandson, Korn Weaver. After his father's death in Autumn 199 Gellem
took over the running of the farmstead, although he is known as
a bit of a booze hound, and so the farm is actually run by his younger
brother, Callum.
Farmer, Grant: Second child of
Bobcat and Saskia Farmer, born in Spring 192. Grant was carried
away by a fever when he was two seasons of age in Autumn 192.
Farmer, Gurgan: Fourth child
of Bobcat and Saskia Farmer, born in Spring 193. Gurgan died in
Autumn 194, aged six seasons.
Farmer, Helen (née Fisher):
Born into the Fisher family in Autumn 194, she was married to Braebree
Farmer in Winter 198. Between them the pair have produced three
children: Alphonse, Davenport and Meg.
Farmer, Jasmin (née Weaver):
Thorn Njedelstrom's second cousin once removed by marriage. She
married Norman Farmer in summer 204 aged fifteen seasons. She then
left her own family and moved to the farmer homestead. Jasmin is
tearful at leaving her family and, although she is very fond of
Norman, is not happy with her new circumstances. She spends an increasing
amount of time away from the farm in the woods that surround the
village.
Farmer, Jocelyn: Third child
of Bobcat and Saskia Farmer. Jocelyn was still born in Autumn 192
only two weeks after the death of Grant Farmer.
Farmer, Mindy (née Goodie):
Born into the Goodie family in Spring 200, Mindy married Alphonse
Farmer in Winter 203. She has one child, Ralph, whom she dotes upon.
Farmer, Murray: First cousin
once removed of Krais Brewer. Murray is the eldest child of Eloise
and Nevrish Farmer. He was born in Spring 192, but never married
- rumour has it he never even looked at a woman. Murray still works
on his farm. Entirely self-sufficient he doesn't seem to need anyone.
Farmer, Nervrish: Krais Brewer's
great-uncle by marriage. Born in Autumn 186, Nervrish spent his
younger days looking up to his brother, Cathage. In Winter 191 he
married Eloise Brewer and brought her to the farmstead. The father
of three children, Nervish passed away in Autumn 201 at the age
of sixty seasons.
Farmer, Norman: Second cousin
once removed of Thorn Njedelstrom. Norman is the eldest son of Callum
and Scarlet Farmer. He was born in Winter 199 and in Summer 204
he married Jasmin Weaver. He works on the Farmer homestead with
his new wife. He considers his father to be the legitimate Patriarch
of the family and his Uncle Gellum to be a washed-up drunk. This
has led to inevitable confrontations between Norman and Taran.
Farmer, Ralph: Son of Alphonse
and Mindy Farmer, born in Spring 204.
Farmer, Sancho: First cousin
once removed of Krais Brewer. Middle child of Eloise and Nevrish
Farmer. A bizarre youth who always insisted in dressing in a sacking
smock and talking to plants, Sancho married Ellen Walker in Summer
198. He has one son (Bernie) but also raised Gertrude Brewer after
her parents Jacob and Zalina died in a fire.
Farmer, Saskia (née Weaver):
Born into the Weaver family in Autumn 186, Saskia was sixteen seasons
of age when she married Bobcat Farmer in Autumn 190. For the early
part of her marriage, Saskia acted as a peacemaker bringing the
three estranged brothers back together against after Bobcat's long
absence. Later she was a devoted mother and cursed the cruel fate
that took so many of her children before their time. Saskia did
not outlive her husband. She died in Summer 199, aged fifty seasons.
Farmer, Scarlett (née Lyar):
Thorn Njedelstrom's second cousin by marriage. Scarlett is an acid-tongued
busybody without a good word to say about anyone. She is probably
responsible for Gellem's alcoholism being common knowledge in the
village. Scarlett was born in winter 192, and married Callum Farmer
in Autumn 199. She is mother to three children: Norman, Cecilia
and Dougray.
Farmer, Sminton "Bobcat":
Longtime patriarch of the Farmer family, Sminton was the elder brother
of Carthage and Nevrish, and was born in Winter 183. In his youth
Sminton left Bear's Reach for the city of Northmeet where he wrestled
bobcats for money. He returned a wealthy man and ploughed all the
resources he had managed to secure back into his farm. His return
from Nortmeet in Autumn 190 caused something of a stir in the village
because he brought a number of outsiders with him to work on the
farmer estate. However, none of these outsiders lasted more than
a season in Bear's Reach, and they all returned to Northacre. Sminton
married Saskia Weaver in Winter 190 and settled down on his new
farm to make prodigious amounts of children. He shared the wealth
with his brothers and helped to create a homestead the Farmer family
could be justifiably proud of. Smiton and Saskia had six children
although only three survived to adulthood, and one of them, Zalina,
died when she was seventeen. However, through all the difficult
years, Bobcat never lost his optimism, his yest for life or his
ability to wrestle bobcats. He died in Summer 201, aged seventy
seasons.
Farmer, Taran: Second cousin
once removed of Thorn Njedelstrom. Son of Gellem and Adelaide Farmer.
Taran is fourteen seasons of age and has yet to marry. He works
on his father's farm. A powerful lad, he secretly ashamed of his
father, but more than willing to pick a fight with any who criticse
him. He is particularly sensitive to the opinions of his cousin
Norman. Alerted the town to the impending flood.
Fathlin (Sir):
Knight and one of the four lords of Hillcrest.
Felix: Inhabitant
of Alhaven and owner of the oldest pair of breeding mules in captivity.
Felix sold two of his finest mules to Brack Ogrebane on 15th Brightday
204. Felix is happily married with seven children. Oft known as
Old Felix for no readily obvious reason.
Felloe, Jaime:
A clerk who worked at Oldheart Manor under the employ of Baron Joseph
Leston and, later, Elias Raithborne. Borther of Kristian Felloe.
Felloe,
Kristian: A clerk who worked at Oldheart Manor under the
employ of Baron Joseph Leston and, later, Elias Raithborne. Borther
of Jaime Felloe.
Fen: Prostitute
employed at The Spinning Top in Kelrin as the part of the Trial
of Temptation for monks of the Order of the Seventh Moon. On 13
Heathaze 204 she tempted Raza de Luna for a week to no avail.
Ferring:
Large town in Umbria. Snolk in the squire here.
Ferrok,
Charrel: Patriarch of the Ferrok family of dwarves that dwells
in Timberlake. Charrel is incredibly old, even for a dwarf. His
reasons for leaving Underbarren and setting up a new life in human
lands is unclear.
Festez (Druid):
Member of the Kerikite Inner Circle. Festez was once a cleric of
fire who studied under Gilvan Goldenman, First Flame of Kovar. However,
Festez loyalties lie with Balance and the Order. On 30th Midsummer
204, he advised Arvan to kill Gilvan to facilitate an alliance with
the orc Goretooth.
Festival of Winter Warding: A
celebration that takes place in Bear's Reach on the last day of
Autumn. It has been performed annually since the time of Scarman
Thorn and involves the entire village dressing up as bears (i.e.
donning stuffed bear's heads), dancing around a large fire and getting
exceedingly drunk. One member of the village council is dressed
as the Great White Bear and appeals to the spirit to protect the
village through the winter.
Fetspur,
Miona: Oakholme landlady who owned a room in which the servant
Honour lived. She turned the girl out after the scandal of her treatment
at the hands of Squire Osroth were revealed. She sent Honour to
Northmeet to live with her brother, Sugin on 11th Brightday 204.
Fetspur,
Sugin: Blacksmith and widower from Northmeet. Placed Honour
in the surface of travelling merchant Dellan Gant on 14th Brightday
204.
Finbar:
One of the members of the dwarven warband that arrived in Uris on
42nd Suntask 204 searching for murdered of King Evabold of Kulhazan.
Returned to Kulhâzan with Grimm and the captive Thorangrim,
arriving on 27th Midsummer 204.
Finch: Leader
of the Bombastic cell that entered Caled Castle on 1st Lollmeadow
204. Finch tried to paint himself as a reasonable man, but was little
more than a common thug with an unusually large vocabulary. He was
arrested thanks to the Chosen of Narramac and set to Uris for trial.
Finda: Bodyguard
to Princess Celestine. Murdered by the twin sorcerers Kelton and
Rembrandt on 1 Lollmeadow 204.
Fire Eyes:
Members of the Church of Fire highly skilled in divination magicks.
Through a special ceremony a third eye is burned onto the forehead
of a fire priest granting great clairvoyant powers. According to
the Convenant of the Moon Faiths only nine Fire Eyes should exist
at any one time: one to watch over ear of the eight points of the
compass, and one to look over the Firewalker. This individual is
the head of the Fire Eyes, and is able to see the Future of the
Firewalker. Any more and the temptation of a Firewalker abusing
their power is too great. After the collapse of Julian Maynard at
the beginning of Midsummer 204, Fire Eye Vina Leikey became First
Flame of the Grand Conflagration in Uris, and a tenth Fire Eye was
created to fill her original role.
Firestarters:
Another name for clerics of the church of fire.
Firewalker:
The title given to the head of the Church of Fire in each of the
nine civilised countries of Urova. They are considered the ultimate
authority in the church, although they rule only with the cooperation
of the first flames. The Firewalker constantly travels the country
staying in various temples to Calafax. The post tends to be vacated
after a relatively short time. The current Firewalker is Tarrashar.
First Circle:
Literally, the first circle of the druidic Order formed on Urova.
The first druid, Eldagaire, formed the First Circle, and from that
all the circles in all the domains on Iourn came.
First Flame:
Title of the given by the Church of Fire to the head priest of a
single temple, regardless of the size of the parish.
Fischer,
Kebron: Grocer based in Uris. Owed money by Jhasik.
Fisher, Angelina (née Smith):
Born into the Smith family in Autumn 189, Angelina had the misfortune
to marry Crippen Fisher in Spring 193. She produced four children:
Curran, Heinrich, Moses and Helen in the five seasons following
the wedding. Eleven seasons later she fell pregnant for a fifth
time. The child, Muriel, was perfectly health but the birth was
too much for Angelina who passed away a few days later aged thirty-one
seasons.
Fisher, Atilla: Brother of Rasputin
Fisher and born into the Fisher family back in Autumn 184. Atilla
followed his brother's lead and married the second of the Miller
family's wyrd sisters, Regan, in Summer 189. Atilla lived until
Spring 202, and supported his brother in his crusade against the
Njedelstroms. His own family had abdicated the Fisher name to Brewer
and Chandar by his grandchildren's generation, and so he felt he
owed it to Rasputin and the family. This did not sit well with his
role as the town's water cleric. After Regan's suspicious death,
Atilla went downhill extremely quickly. He died only a few days
later of a wasting disease that should have killed him decades earlier.
Fisher, Camden: Born into the
Fisher family in Autumn 198. Camden is a fisherman through and through.
He was married to Constance Dyer in Summer 203 and was father shocked
when Constance's father, Murloe, moved into their home with them.
This has led to some tension between him and his wife of which Murloe
remains blissfully unaware. Camden has taken to spending much more
time at sea than is absolutely necessary. One of the Fishers who
made an unsuccessful attempt to seize the Demeter for salvage on
42 Chillbone 204. He was beaten to it by the accursed Njedelstroms.
Fisher, Constance (née Dyer):
Only daughter of Murloe and Anna Dyer. Constance never really knew
her mother, but has been continually told that she is the very image
of her. After Anna's death when Constance was less than a seson
of age, she was brought up by her doting father. A close bond exists
between father and daughter. So much so that when Constance was
married in Summer 203 to Camden Fisher, Murloe moved in with them.
Constance has two children
Fisher, Cordelia (née Miller):
Born into the Miller family in Winter 185, Cordelia was the youngest
of the three "evil" Miller sisters (the other two being
Goneril and Regan), who gained a reputation for being witches in
their youth. Cordelia was sixteen seasons of age when she married
Mao Fisher. However, on their wedding night in Winter 189 the cabin
then were staying in was barricaded and they were both burned to
death. This caused a great scandal at the time and Cordelia's sisters
seemed determined to get to the bottom of it. However, the matter
was quietly dropped a few weeks later for no readily obvious reason.
Fisher, Crippen: Son of Rasputin
Fisher, born in Autumn 188. Crippen shared his father's hatred of
the Njedelstroms and was determined that his sons should marry into
that hated family. However, it did not work out that way. None of
his children followed his wishes. Crippen considered himself a failure,
and Rasputin did nothing to convince otherwise. Crippen married
his long-suffering wife, Angelina Smith, in Spring 193. After she
died following an unplanned fifth child, Crippen lived a lonely
an increasingly bitter live. He died in Spring 204, aged sixty-two
seasons.
Fisher, Curran: First son of
Crippen and Angelina Fisher, born in Summer 193 Curran apprentice
under his uncle Atilla as the local Wavemaster (cleric of water)
and took over the role following Atilla's death in Spring 202. Curran
takes his work blessing fishing boats and working for the general
good of the town extremely seriously. Curran was married to Magda
Weaver in Autumn 197 and the pair have three children: Ida, Camden
and Jennete. Curran has one acolyte under him, Raven Njedelstrom,
who also possess magical powers granted by Sharrash. Raven is Curran's
deputy and would take over if anything happened to Curran. This
fact, and the friendship and respect that exists between Raven and
Curran is a constant sort of irritation to Rasputin Fisher. Curran
helped proof Tarn Brewer's innocence of the murder of Baron Smith
when he managed to isolate the poison that killed the baron on 34
Chillbone.
Fisher, Goneril (née Miller):
Born into the Miller family in Autumn 183, Goneril was the eldest
of the three "evil" Miller sisters (the other two being
Regan and Cordelia), who gained a reputation for being witches in
their youth. Whether Goneril ever engaged in anything more serious
than mutilating pigeons is unclear, but she was a generally unpleasent
and ill-natured girl, who turned into an absolute harridan after
her marriage to Rasputin Fisher in Autumn 187. Goneril had three
children: Jackson, Katherin and Crippen. She was murdered in Spring
197 at the age of fifty-four seasons, discovered face down in one
of the village pig-pens with a stake through her heart. The identity
of the killer was never established, although no-one enquired too
closely, as there were few who didn't consider it to be a good thing.
Fisher, Gretchen (née Lyar):
Born in the Lyar family in Winter 194, Gretchen was extremely happy
to marry the heroic Heinrich Fisher in Winter 199. She produced
two daughters for him: Bennet and Ariadne. Gretchen has never got
on with Rasputin Fisher who blamed her for only producing daughters
and thus dooming another branch of the Fisher family tree.
Fisher, Heinrich: Second child
of Rasputin and Goneril Fisher, born in Winter 193. An extremely
accomplished and skilled fisherman who once killed a forty foot
whale single-handedly and dragged it back to shore. Heinrich married
Gretchen Lyar in Winter 199, and has two daughters: Ariadne and
Bennet. One of the Fishers who made an unsuccessful attempt to seize
the Demeter for salvage on 42 Chillbone 204. He was beaten to it
by the accursed Njedelstroms.
Fisher, Isaac: Born into the
Fisher family in Summer 204, Isaac is precocious beyond his years.
He wooed and married the older Soon Fisher in Autumn 204. One of
the Fishers who made an unsuccessful attempt to seize the Demeter
for salvage on 42 Chillbone 204. He was beaten to it by the accursed
Njedelstroms.
Fisher, Isobel (née Walker):
Born into the Walker family in Autumn 194, Isobel married Moses
Fisher in Spring 200. She produced one child (Isaac). Isobel died
in Autumn 200.
Fisher, Jackson: Member of Fisher
family born in Spring 188 and promised to be married to Reena Njedelstrom.
Jackson was lost at sea in the Winter of 193 just weeks before the
wedding. Reena never recovered from the shock.
Fisher, Ken: Younger child of
Constance and Camden Fisher, born in Spring 204.
Fisher, Lucy: Elder child of
Constance and Camden Fisher, born in Autumn 203.
Fisher, Magda (née Weaver):
Born to Rufus and Belle Weaver in Spring 196, Magda is the twin
sister of Verona Weaver (now Verona Lyar). She married Curran Fisher
in Autumn 197 and produced three children: Ida, Camden and Jennete.
She has taken to the life as a cleric's wife extremely well, and
is a constant support to her husband in all that she does. Magda
quite fancied being a cleric herself, but such a thing was forbidden
by the village council. If Magda is bitter about this, she chooses
not to show it.
Fisher, Mao: Brother of Rasputin
and Atilla Fisher, born in Spring 185. Like his brothers, Mao married
one of the Miller's wyrd sisters. He and Cordelia Miller were married
in Winter 189. The young pair departed into a cabin in the Wyrwood
that used to be used to be owned by the Fisher family. On their
wedding night person or persons unknown barricaded them in the cabin
and burned them both to death. Mao had no children before his untimely
death.
Fisher, Mian: Maternal grandfather
of Arax Chandar. Master boat-builder of Bear's Reach until his death
during a fishing expedition in Autumn 199. Mian was the son of Atilla
and Regan Fisher, born in Spring 191, and was married to Rose Smith
in Winter 194. Many who worked under Mian (including his good friend
Shul) hoped to be apprenticed as a master boat-builder. But Shul
was too old, and Mian chose to apprentice Shul's son, Sharax. He
liked Sharax and even arranged a marriage between him and his own
daughter, Jeane.
Fisher, Moses: Third child of
Rasputin and Goneril Fisher, born in Summer 194. Moses is a typical
coarse and smelly fisherman. He is not very bright, drinks to excess
whenever he can and has a roving eye for the ladies. Moses married
Isobel Walker in Spring 200, and has a son (Isaac) who couldn't
be more different from his father if he tried. Isobel did not live
long after the birth of her son and so Moses has been a widower
for many seasons. One of the Fishers who made an unsuccessful attempt
to seize the Demeter for salvage on 42 Chillbone 204. He was beaten
to it by the accursed Njedelstroms.
Fisher, Rasputin: Aged patriach
of the Fisher family. Born in Autumn 183, and a contemporary of
Kvar Whiteheart. Rasputin remembers the days when the Fisher family
were the largest and most powerful family in Bear's Reach. He remembers
when the Fishers were the greatest and most daring of fishermen.
And he knows when it all went wrong. When Kvar Whiteheart married
into the Njedelstrom family she used her prognosticating abilities
for the good of that family. Suddenly no Njedelstroms were lost
at sea, and the family grew in strength and importance
. at
the expense of the Fishers. Rasputin hates the Njedelstroms. For
the best part of three generations he has been trying to marry his
sons into the family to "steal the line" away from Konig
and his children. However, all that has happened is the situation
has got worse. His daughters have become Njedelstroms, his family
has diminished and now the last shred of Fisher pride is at stake.
Fishers have always been clerics of Water now the current cleric,
Rasputin's grandson Curran, has taken a Njedelstrom on as an apprentice.
Rasputin sees an evil conspiracy and uses his place on the village
council to engage in machinations against them. Rasputin married
the eldest of the "evil Miller sisters", Goneril, in Autumn
187 and had three children: Jackson, Katherine and Crippen. Only
the latter produced Fisher children, the only part of his family
Rasputin cares anything about. His wife was murdered in Spring 197,
but this did not seem to bother Rasputin too much.
Fisher, Regan (née Miller):
Born into the Miller family in Autumn 184, Regan was the middle
of the three "evil" Miller sisters (the other two being
Goneril and Cordelia), who gained a reputation for being witches
in their youth. Regan was always the leader, despite her youth,
and she survived both other sisters. She married Atilla Fisher in
Summer 189 and produced two children, Santha and Mian. Regan lived
to the hideous age of seventy seasons and was a fearful presence
in the town. She died in the year 202, when she was struck by lightning
at midnight on the vernal equinox while standing over the graves
of her departed sisters. Go figure.
Fisher, Rose (née Smith):
Maternal grandmother of Arax Chandar. Rose was born in Winter 190
into the Smith family. Mian Fisher was her one love, and she was
blissfully happy following their marriage in Winter 194, and the
birth of their baby girl, Jeane the following season. Rose was utterly
devastated by the death of her husband in Autumn 199. The tragedy
drove her mad. She still lives in the attic room of the Chandar
home, where she is looked after by her daughter.
Fisher, Soon (née Craftwright):
Second child of Bryce and Elayne Craftwright, born in Winter 199.
Soon married the younger Isaac Fisher in Autumn 204. The two are
yet to produce any children.

Forester, Dael: One of the thirteen
companions of Scarman Thorn who journeyed to Bear's Reach in 38
LE. Details of Dael's character and role in the events of that time
are rather sketchy, although his descendants remain convinced of
his courage and skill. Dael began the Forester line that may or
may not still continue to the present day, depending on who one
asks.
Forester, Darnavan: Son of the
companion, Dael Forester. Instigated the replanting and coppicing
of the area of the Whittenwood now known as Darnavan's Forest.
Forester, Drusilla (née Chandar):
Grandmother of Illyan Snowmantle and great aunt of Arax Chandar.
Born into the Chandar family in Spring 190, the stunning Drusilla
was married to Manton Forester in Autumn 195. She quickly produced
twins Lyssa and Tobias. Drusilla moved to the Forester Lodge after
the wedding, but became a widow in Winter 196. She lived alone in
the lodge raising Lyssa and Tobias until she died in Spring 200.
Forester, Dwent: Third great
grandfather of Illyan Snowmantle. Only son of Morris and Eliza Forester,
born in Bear's Reach in Spring 177. Dwent was two seasons of age
when his father was driven from the village by an angry mob. At
the Forester Lodge he learned the trade of the woodsman. His mother
died when he was fifteen seasons, and he came to town to inform
her family. He said nothing about the fate of his father. Dwent
lived apparently alone at the lodge, but it became apparent that
he had been having an affair with the young Elana Cooper. Cooper
was berothed to the desperate Vannir Von Turnsgate, who washed his
hands completely of her thus condemning his line to extinction.
Elana and Dwent were married in Summer 182, only a few days before
the birth of their first child: Giles. The pair lived together at
the lodge for only two seasons before Dwent died of exposure in
the particularly severe Winter of 182.
Forester, Elana (née Cooper):
Third great grandmother of Illyan Snowmantle. Born into the Cooper
family in Summer 178, Elana was betrothed to be married to Vannir
Von Turnsgate. She loathed Vannir and instead fell for the rugged
and handsome Dwent Forester and started an affair with him. Vannir
discovered the truth shortly before their wedding when it was apparent
that Elana was pregnant by another man. Dwent and Elana were married
in Summer 182, days before the birth of their only son, Giles. After
Dwent died in Winter 182, Elana shocked her family by choosing to
remain alone in the woods and raise her Giles. As it was she outlived
Giles by seven seasons. She died in Summer 191 attended by her daughter-in-law,
grandson and his wife.
Forester, Eliza (née Fisher):
Fourth great grandmother of Illyan Snowmantle. Born into the Fisher
family in Summer 172, Eliza met and fell in love with the changeling
Morris Forester at an early age. Against her family's wishes but
with the blessing of Caleb Thorn, Eliza and Morris were married
in Winter 176. The following season they had a son that was named
Dwent. After Caleb died so did his protection of Morris, and Eliza's
husband was hounded from the town. Eliza went with him and died
at the tender age of thirty-four seasons in Winter 180.
Forester, Gareth: Great grandfather
of Illyan Snowmantle. Only son of Giles and Marriett Forester, born
in Spring 187. Gareth was two seasons of age when his father was
killed in a logging accident and he was raised by his mother and
grandmother. Gareth was married in Summer 191 to Nissa Goodie, and
the pair produced one child, Manton. Gareth died in Autumn 191.
Forester, Giles: Second great
grandfather of Illyan Snowmantle. The only son of Dwent and Elana
Forester, Giles was born in Summer 182. He was only two seasons
of age when his father died and was raised by his mother. Giles
did not often visit Bear's Reach, but he came in Autumn 186 to marry
Mariett Weaver. The marriage signalled a closer realtionship between
the Foresters and the rest of the town. The pair produced one child
(Gareth) in Spring 187. Giles was killed in Winter 187 in a logging
accident.
Forester, Harris: Descendent
of Dael Forester and fifth great grandfather of Illyan Snowmantle.
Born in Spring 163, Harris lived outside Bear's Reach in his family's
ancestral lodge. In the Summer of 172 Harris came to town with a
baby no more than a month old. Harris said that the child was his
and named him Morris Forester. However, it was evident that there
was something otherworldly about the child, and as time passed doubt
was expressed if Morris was really Harris's child. Harris, a confirmed
batchelor, never spoke of the mother and many in the village think
he found the child. Arguably, therefore, when Harris died in Summer
177 the Forester line died with him. However, Morris retained the
name, and all subsequent Foresters are descended from him.
Forester, Lyssa: Mother of Illyan
Snowmantle. The daughter of Manton and Drusilla Forester and twin
of Tobias, born in Winter 195. Lyssa is a petite and stunningly
attractive woman and also incredibly intelligent, intuitive and
insightful
. when conherent. Unfortunately this is rarely case
and she usually spends her time smiling benignly, singing songs
of unknown origin and scattering flowers. Generally considered to
be as mad as a brush, Lyssa does not enjoy much sympathy for her
condition in the town. She was sixteen seasons of age when she bore
a changeling for a child. This is widely believed to be the cause
of her dementia, and therefore she brought it on herself. The child
Illyan, named Snowmantle for his white hair and because he is demonstrably
not of the Forester line, enjoys even less charity. The father of
the child is unknown and it is speculated that it was some fey creature
that stalks the Wyrwood at night. Lyssa and Illyan are not without
friends, however. Dominic and Caitlyn Dyer were always her friends
and supporters and remain so since their marriage. Dominic is the
local herbalist and has created potions to help Lyssa's madness.
In general these have not helped. The most tragic thing is that
the real Lyssa is still there underneath and she occassionally has
moments of sudden and disquieting clarity.
Forester, Manton: Grandfather
of Illyan Snowmantle. Only child of Gareth and Nissa Forester, born
in Summer 191. Manton was a strong and hearty boy. He was barely
one season of age when his father died, and ten seasons when he
lost his mother. During his teen years he was raised by his grandmother,
Mariett, and the pair were extremely close. In Autumn 195, when
he was seventeen seasons, Manton married Drusilla Chandar. The following
season Drusilla gave birth to twins, Lyssa and Tobias. The Forester
Lodge was a happy and full place for two seasons until Mariett's
sudden death in Spring 196. Manton never recovered from the death
of his grandmother. He died in Winter 196 in a hunting accident
in the Wyrwood.
Forester, Mariett (née Weaver):
Second great grandmother of Illyan Snowmantle. Born into the Weaver
family in Autumn 181. Mariett married Giles Forester in Autumn 186
and moved into the Forester lodge to live with her husband and his
mother, Elana. She produced one child, Gareth, before she was widowed
in Winter 187. Mariett herself died in Spring 196, outliving her
own son and daughter-in-law.
Forester, Morris: Fourth great
grandfather of Illyan Snowmantle. Baby brought into Bear's Reach
by Harris Forested in Summer 172 and declared by the woodsman to
be his child. Morris's almond-shaped eyes and amber pupils marked
him as a changeling (a half-elf) and doubt was expressed over his
true parentage. However, town patriarch Caleb Thorn made it clear
that the boy should be accepted. In Winter 176 Morris married Eliza
Fisher much to the consternation of her family. The union produced
a perfectly normal baby in the shape of Dwent Forester the following
Spring. Harris died not long after his grandson was born and Morris
took over the foresting business. However, after the death of Caleb
Thorn in Winter 177, opinion in the town turned against Morris and
he was hounded from Bear's Reach and never made welcome there again.
Eliza died in Winter 180, Morris's fate remains unclear to the town
in general. His son and subsequent descendents have never sought
to enlighten the Chronicler or the town in general what happened
to him. However, on 36 Chillbone Illyan Snowmantle revealed to Krais
that Morris still lives, although he has turned into an unapproachable
old hermit who detests the village and the people who live there.
Forester, Nissa (née Goodie):
Great grandmother of Illyan Snowmantle and sister of Ozymandias
Goodie. Born into the Goodie family in Autumn 185. She was married
to Gareth Forester in Summer 191, produced a son (Manton) shortly
after and was widowed in the Autumn. Nissa continued to live in
the Forester Lodge with her mother-in-law Mariett. She died of a
fever in Spring 193 at the age of thirty seasons.
Forester, Tobias: Uncle of Illyan
Snowmantle. Son of Manton and Drusilla Forester and twin of Lyssa,
Tobias was born in Winter 195. An amazingly talented individual
whom all of Bear's Reach is justifiably proud. In his youth, Tobias
was a ranger who took it upon himself to protect the village from
the predations of the wild. During this time Tobias was fast friends
with Dominic Santori Dyer and Caitlyn Venturo Smith. He worked with
the former to help produce tincutres to curb his sister's madness,
and with the latter he had a passionate affair. Around Winter 201
Tobias encountered members of the druidic order and decided that
his future lay with them. He threw off his past life and before
the first snow falls of that year he had left Bear's Reach. He occassionally
returned in the subsequent decade, but his visits were short and
increasingly far apart. Unknown to the population of Bear's Reach
but known to his family, Tobias rose quickly in the druidic ranks
and became an important figure. He fought the undead at the Battle
of Harton Moor on 26 Mizzle Month 204 and survived to marry one
of the other survivors. He witnessed the summoning of the Twelve
on 30 Dark Days. Following these events Tobias was assigned to watch
over all of the Arms of Uros. He visited his family on 41 Keenaxe
204 to tell them this, but did not mention any of the goings-on
in the outside world. He then left Bear's Reach and his current
whereabouts is unknown.
Fortune's
Favour: A faith of Vítaeous that places an emphasis
on good fortune, daring and adventures. A popular faith among adventurers.
Four Deaths:
To druids, the four deaths are Good, Evil, Law and Chaos. They are
called this because of the way these forces attempt to pull and
manipulate the natural world to their own ends. To embrace any one
of these cardinal aspects without the others is a little death in
the eyes of the Order. The greatest task of the druidic tradition
is to maintain The Balance between these forces.
Foxon (Squire):
Head of the Church of the Land in the Village of the Eighteen Churches.
Frey (King):
King of Norandor from 137 to 140 LE.
Funk (Duke):
Alias that Nicos Allumière came horribly close to using at
the ball on 14th Suntask 204.
Furnice:
A red dragon 200' long that terrorised the duchy of Northacre for
many seasons up to the New Year of 202. Furnice confounded attempts
to locate by hiding out in the near-by Wraith Haunt, but this proved
to be her undoing in the New Year of 202 when the witchwyrd Sarakite
imprisoned her. Furnice remained a prisoner until her release by
the barbarian Bronx and a group of adventurers in 38th Scatterseed
204. Furnice was spotted by the party (2) on 2nd Brightday 204,
and the fell creature returned on the 6th to butcher more than one
hundred questors five miles to the south of Oakholme. Dukes Colharn,
Vrexax and Ipso have combined their forces to destroy Furnice before
she grows into more of a menace. They are aided by the Justicians
and Varamil of the Watchers. Furnice was fell into a large moorland
lake, apparently dead on 21st Suntask 204. She has not been heard
of since then.
