Ellington and Derek Wireman to a mall in Brightstar, Arkansas on
21 August 2000. The purpose was rendezvous with agents from the
security division. See case BRTS002
for more information.
Vargas, Catherine: Physicist who
works in shielding technology who has been based at Dynamicorp's
Think Tank in Winterset since January 2001. A member of the communications
team. See case TL348.

Westwood Charity on. The last of the Vauntings died without an heir.

potential victim of Apache Joe resident in Eagle Pass, Texas. See
case S73.
Vitrano, Eric (Senior Special Agent):
Codename Gold, Vitrno is an ex-KGB agent employed by NTOPFOR to
infiltrate the United States. Vitrano is a mercenary paid by a Nigerian
broker and doesn't know who he is working for. Along with Nicole
Lavin he joined the NSA and served there for several years before
transfering to the FBI. In 1995 Vitrano and his team took over the
investigation in the serial Killer Apache Joe (case S73) from Walter
Crondheim. Vitrano knew the truth behind Apache Joe, and managed
to prevent him from being captured for five years, while at the
same time trying to find out what MK Ultra had done to augment him.
He was also behind the payments made to Apache Joe. The investigation
of mid-west evidence response team into this case, tipped off MK-Ultra
as to what Vitrano and his associates were doing. On 13 December
2000 they declared the case closed and arrested Constatine Perez
who was set up to appear to be Apache Joe, and then be murdered
by a grieving relative. The plan was largely successful. Vitrano
and Lavin are still on the NTOPFOR payroll and were thought to be
travelling the world hunting Elaine Ross (codename: White). However,
they both appeared in Arizona on 10 June 2001 to assassinate Benedict
Oaxaca. He and Lavin visited the National Radiological Institute
in Nevada later that month, supposedly investigating case BRB012.
Believing they were working for an outside agency, they have been
permanently recruited by NTOP to keep them out of trouble. See cases
S73 and 0018-GCF.
Voltchkov, Ivan: Assassin working
for the Ukrainian Mafia in Newark, and jointly responsible for the
killing of Peter Dubieniec. Ivan was sensible of some dark and worrying
changes to the mafia in Newark over the last year. Seemingly random
crimes and atrocities that frightened him. When his longstanding
partner, Youri, joined the inner circle he came back changed. Ivan
did not know that all of these changes were the result of brain
bugs controlling the mafia from within. After being incapacitated
by Julian Turn, Ivan was interrogated at the mid-west HQ in Wichita.
He wouldn't talk at first, but the shape-changing Benedict was able
to 'convince him'. Ivan was subsequently turned over to the Department
of Agriculture. See case NW988.
Von Stein, Eric: Senior shift
miner at the Copperhead Mine in Casper, Wyoming.
