Who's Who?

Patterson, Lloyd: Drill chief at the Copperhead Mine in Casper, Wyoming. He believed that the cut for shaft 43 was being made too low but his advice was not followed. Ray Peterson later admitted that Patterson was correct, and had the shaft been cut higher the accident of 22 October could have been avoided.

Patterson, Theresa: Secretary who works at the Twin Valley Farm just outside Wichita, Kansas. On 10 January 2001 she was examined by Jane Munroe for signs of brain bug impregnation but found to be clean.

Paul (Police Officer): Member of the Pasadena police force sent to help the mid-west evidence response team in their search of warehouses in the dock area on 12 October 2000. Entered the Coffee 4 Texas warehouse with Special Agent Jane Munroe and engaged in a gun fight by members of Jesus Martinez's drugs gang. He survived.

Pearl: Codename of one of the four leaders of MK Ultra. She met with Artemis Black in a facility in the Colorado Mountains on 13 June 2001.

Perez, Constantine: Mexican and petty criminal from El Paso, Texas. Arrested by agents Vitrano and Lavin at some point prior to 13 December 2000 and set up as Apache Joe. The plan was to have Perez murdered by an irate relative of one of Joe's victims before it could be discovered that he couldn't have been the serial killer. Despite the actions of the mid-west evidence response team under Jane Munroe, Perez was killed by Giles Case. Perez leaves a wife and two baby daughters. He was definitely not a non-secreter.

Perry, James: Unkempt computer programmer and on-line gamer. Works for Dynamicorp at the Mary Estate in Casper, Wyoming where he is responsible for their server and general maintenance. A conspiracy-nut, Perry has his own website called "Who Watches the Watchers?" that contains many theories, some more plausible than others. Perry was befriended by Benedict Oaxaca during case CS1473-IND, and he has become an ally of the mid-west evidence response team. On 9 December 2000 he gave them a pass-card to anywhere on the Mary Estate in return for the team promising to put him in touch with a man named Harlow, the king of porn. In the absence of a computer expert Perry has been cajoled, dared and bribed with porn to help the team of several occassions. On 28 April 2001 he gave the team a fair amount of information (and vitriol) Dynamicorp. On 12 May 2001 he managed to find out who put Raphael's name on the FBI ten most wanted list.

Perry, Joseph: Boyfriend of Rachel Tierney. The two split up shortly before Rachel's car was torched on 21 August 2001. Although they left each other on bad terms, Rachel didn't think he could be responsible. See case BRTS002.

Person of Sky: A true Signai who killed Mao Sei Ben one hundred years ago in order to recover the I-Ching book. He was badly wounded in the fight and took the book to the only surviving members of the monastic order that used to venerate his people - now running a small gift house in Los Angeles. This individual was not on the ship or life-pods that crashed to Earth 5221 years ago.

Peterson, Ray: Head of the mining authority in Casper, Wyoming and based in the modern Mary Estate outside the city. Peterson used to be a miner and understands the profession. An open and honest man, he was an important contact for the mid-west evidence response team during case CS1473-IND. Peterson is currently married to his second wife. He was marooned at the Mary Estate for several days during terrible weather conditions, but rescued by the mid-west team on 9 December 2000. Peterson's experiences, particularly while hiding from rogue Ukrainian soldiers, adversely affected the man.

Pettigrew, Frankie: Member of the Department of Agriculture, working undercover as a florist in Newark in order to keep an eye on the local Ukrainian Mafia who have been possessed by brain bugs. Pettigrew and his associates released a toxin into the area around Newark in the hope it would have a deleterious effect.

Phelps (Deputy Sheriff): Deputy Sheriff working in Estelle County. Encountered by the agents during case ES174. Phelps was mopping up after the death of Sam Pickering.

Pi, Fu: One of the four fathers of the Twisted Way tried. He has been augmented by one of the four jade pendants belonging to Mao Sei Ben and was one of the assailants who killed the west coast evidence response team on 13 December 2000. He was killed by a stinger missile fired by Jane Munroe on 19 December 2000. This was not overkill.

Pickering, Sam (jnr): Thirty-eight year old mechanic, squashed to death by his own hydraulic press on 19 June 2001. A residence of Estelle, Louisiana Sam was running a family business. The agents immediately suspected a link to case ES174. It is believed the culprit was Sam's father, possessed by the vengeful Peter Ellis Dean.

Pickering, Sam (snr): One of the old patriarches who seem to control Estelle County, Louisiana. It is believed that, in the 1962, Pickering and his buddies Christopher Roche, Gerald de Tour and Louis la Ville were responsible for the murder of Peter Ellis Dean. The killing was witnessed by Roger de Tour. Sam handed over the family garage business to his son, Sam, when he retired. He wanted to go to Florida but somehow wound up in a seedy nursing home on the outskirts of Estelle. On 19 June 2001, Sam was possessed by the spirit of Peter Ellis Dean and forced to murder his own son. When he realised what he did he committed suicide by slashing his wrists. The agents discovered this on 21 June 2001. See case ES174.

Pickman, Fred (Senior Special Agent): FBI agent in Houston, Texas who helped evidence response wrap up case BV004. Pickman arrested Clive Fenner and raided his premises.

Pickman, Louise (née Alton): Ex-wife of Professor Reginald Alton, now remarried. She divorced her husband because there was no love left in the marriage and doesn't care that he is missing. See case BRB012.

Pines (Doctor): Scientist who works at the National Radiological Institute in Nevada. He met his wife, Sheryl, in Berlin in 1995 and didn't realise that she was working for the brain-bug possessed Ukrainian military. It was through one of his wife's parties that Pines came to know Professor Alton. He found him rather dull, and made no effort to get to know him better. When Sheryl's complicity in the theft of the accelerator was discover, Pines was grilled by McPike. See case BRB012.

Pines, Sheryl: Wife of Dr Pines of the National Radiological Institute in Broken Bow, Nevada. Sheryl worked as a US translator at the Berlin embassy in the 1990s. It is likely she was compromised by a brain bug and when she returned to the US with her husband she retained that allegiance. Sheryl was complicit in the theft of the particle accelerator from the institute and tried to murder agents McPike, Stone and Steiger. She was killed when the inhuman Clint Stone exploded. See case BRB012.

Plum Blossom: Originally a courtesan living as much as 2000 years ago, Plum Blossom was trapped in a mirror by Mao Sei Ben turning her into a vengeance spirit. She was a powerful spell-caster in her own right, but could not free herself. The mirror eventually found its way to Chinatown in San Francisco where she had been leaving the mirror to steal items. The mirror was taken by the west coast team who discovered its secrets and tried to use it against Mao Sei Ben. This failed and the team was killed. However, the mid-west team were able to put the plan into operation with more success. On 19 December 2000 Plum Blossom was released from the mirror, possessed Jane Munroe and was instrumental in the death of Mao Sei Ben. However, she had to be forced from Jane's body and almost killed two members of Jane's team in the process. Plum Blossom remains at large - a problem for another time. Plumber, Maxine: Resident of Clayton, Idaho. She has a daughter called Millie.

Plumber, Millie: Daughter of Maxine Plumber, resident of Clayton Idaho. According to Sheriff Liam Mullice, Millie "went to college once" and was probably the only person in town who knew what GM food was.

Polyps: Parasitic alien race that probably came to Earth on a falling meteorite many millennia ago. They have been known to animate the corpses, but they are largely mindless being. They have been encountered on several ocassions by the west coast evidence response team. See case SE324 for more details.

porn_phreak: On-line pseudonym of Nathan Harlow.

Powell, Calvin: Driver working out of the Copperhead Mine in Casper, Wyoming. He was killed when his heavy goods truck went off the I-25 into a river just outside Chugwater, Wyoming. The accident was caused by a skilled Ukrainian sniper. Powell was trying to flee with Ukrainian spy Elaine Ross and her husband Oscar, following the end of their illicit mining operations at the Copperhead Mine. See case CS1473-IND for more information.

Prentice, Ellen: Daughter-in-law of Neil Prentice and mother of Milo Prentice. She was probably not possessed by a brain bug like much of the rest of her family. She was therefore murdered in her sleep by her brain-bug possessed husband on the night of 7/8 October 2000.

Prentice, John: Son of Neil Prentice. Possessed by a brain bug like the rest of his family. On the night of 7/8 October 2000 he entered the grain silo in the farm where the maize created by the department of agriculture killed the bug. He fell face down in the maize and suffocated.

Prentice, Maisie: Wife of Neil Prentice, possessed by brain bugs between 1 and 4 October 2000. She was seen to turn into a green mist and disappear in a shower of falling stars from the yard outside the Prentice farmhouse on the night of 7/8 October 2000. She has not been seen since and her body has not been recovered.

Prentice, Milo: Grandson of Neil Prentice, son of Ellen Prentice. Possessed by a brain bug between 1 and 4 October 2000. He was freed of the possession when the bug in his body left to attack Jane Munroe and Nathan Harlow on the night 7/8 October 2000. Milo was carried to safety by the agents and was the only member of his family to survive. He currently resides in the Idaho State Orphanage and is a withdrawn and lonely child.

Prentice, Neil: Farmer from Clayton, Idaho contacted by the mid-west evidence response team as part of case 1097-IN1. He was possessed by a brain bug between 1 and 4 October 2000 with the intention of destroying the special bug-killing maize grown on his farm by the Department of Agriculture. The possessed Prentice attempted to kill Special Agent Jane Munroe with a shotgun on during the night of 7/8 October 2000. He was killed in the fight when Munroe broke his neck.

Price, Bernie: Top reporter of the Casper Clarion and journalist who covered the strike at the Copperhead mine that began after the deaths of 15 workers on 22 October 2000. Price spoke to the mid-west evidence response team on 5 December 2000.

Price, James: Television reporter working for FOX television. Price is determined to find the truth behind the "Artemis Black Phenomenon" and is currently following Artemis around the country trying to find out what makes him tick. This can only turn out badly for evidence response.

Price, Victor: Lawyer and lover of Terri Madison. He was arrested by the mid-west evidence response team during their investigation of case BV004. His evidence was instrumental enough to get him and Madison into the witness protection scheme.

Prophecies of the Sons of Sebek: A book held holy by the Eyes of Sebek that contains a list of prophecies. It is quite likely that this book was actually written by the time-travelling Alan Hamblin III.

Purnell, Jim: Works for maintenance at the Los Angeles Central Library. He attemped to open the door to Hamblin's office that was actually a time portal to 1941. His chainsaw was ripped in half but he was uninjured.
