Jackson, Richard (aka The Jackson):
Infamous criminal who squats with his family at #2432 Penson Avenue
in Birmingham, Alabama. He continually frustrated the attempts of
local police to pin anything on him until the arrival of the mid-west
evidence response team on 2 October 2000. After tenuously linking
his house to the events of case BR056
a SWAT team was ordered to raid the place. Richard Jackson was killed
in the fire fight that followed. He was carrying two 9mm Gloc 22
fully automatic pistols when he died. Jackson was a known drug pusher
and probably supplied drugs to Tic-Tac Loos. $300,000 worth of hard
drugs were found at his house, along with a staggering assortment
of offensive weapons.

co-opted to the search for Melissa Lefenwiecz and had the misfortune
to encounter both a cult of Sebek and the mid-west evidence response
team at a bonded warehouse in the airport's environs. In different

before 4 December 2000 to cover her tracks as she fled Casper. See
case CS1473-IND.
Jameson, Albert (Sergeant): Police
sergeant with the Wichita PD. He was on crowd control following
the shoot out at the Kansas State Library with agents of Sebek on

have not met Sergeant Jameson in the real world.
Jameson, Earl: Friend of Elijah
Stone from the time he served in Alcohol, Firearms and Tobacco.
Earl is currently sill in the AFT and based in Hawaii. Stone travelled

get in touch with Artemis Black, after Hunt was arrested by Vitrano
and Lavin.
Jenks, Robert
(Special Agent): Recent recruit assigned to evidence response
in the same batch of agents as McKraken, Burchill and Ecks. Jenks
was assigned to the east coast team, and worked with briefly with
McKraken on case 0021-GCF.
Jenks main distinguishing feature is and atrocious lack of personal
hygiene.

brutality against the agent but failed. Eventually struck a deal
with law enforcement and gave them information on much of Dega's
operation.

Agent Hudson, Jimminez is potentially the thirty-eighth victim of
Apache Joe and will be killed in Knox, Texas on 6 August 2001 unless
the agents prevent it.
Jimxxor: On-line pseudonym of
James Perry.
Johnson (Leading Agent): Member
of the Inspection Division's cyber crime section who turned up to
the west coast team's HQ on 16 December 2000 to investigate Harlow's
attempt to hack the files of Vitrano and Lavin. After a judicial
alteration of the time line these events never happened, and the
agents have never actually met Agent Johnson.
Johnson (Sergeant): Desk sergeant
at the 29th precinct in Los Angeles.
Johnson, Albert: True name of
Apache Joe.
Johnson, Cassius Longhorn: Military
scientist and one of the key players in setting up the Advanced
Research Projects Agency (ARPA) in 1958. Cassius encouraged his
son, Charles, in his studies of cryptology, electronics and computing.
However, the pair did not see eye-to-eye and Chuck's off-the-wall
methodologies drove a wedge between them. They never really reconciled
and Cassius died on the day of his son's greatest triumph.
Johnson, Charles
'Chuck' (Senior Special Agent): Enormous beach-ball of a
special agent with a penchant for twinkies, pornography and T-shirts
two sizes too small for him. A member of the NSA since 1990, Chuck
spent a great deal of his free time investigating supernatural occurrences.

a disagreement with his boss over the appropriate use of his team's
fast Internet connection. See also: Charles
'Chuck' Johnson Casefile.

Johnson, Rebecca: Third victim
of Apache Joe, murdered in Abilene, Texas on 1 March 1992. See case
S73.
Johnson, Sandra: Mother of Charles
'Chuck' Johnson.
Joker: A supernatural
fiend (known as Alastor to the Catholic church) who is thought to
have conducted a number of killings in the past century in the guise
of various serial killers: the Axe-Man in 1890s New Orleans, an
unnamed killer in 1920s Chicago, another unnamed killer in 1960s
Detroit, and the Joker killings themselves that began on 2 October
2000. During this period the Joker was a blind-player in The
Game and he was (possibly unknowingly) serving a unrevealed
secret society. It is conjectured that the Joker was summnoned and
charmed for this purpose by Mushah Al-Rhabin at the end of the nineteenth
century. The society and the Joker's opponent in the game was Lillith
and her blind-player. Lillith's blind player was always one of her
direct descendents which in 2000 was Artemis Black. From 26 September
2000 playing cards (probably from the secret society) began to arrive,
baiting Black. It is possible that, in 1999, the Joker influenced
the serial killer, Damian Snapes into changing his MO at the last
moment and killing Carol Hunter just to get at Black. In his latest
killing spree the Joker brutally slew FBI agents who were also members
of the Delta Omega Tao fraternity (however, this cateogory seems
to have been artbitrarily assigned). He was responsible for the
death of Nathan Harlow in New Orleans and continued to persecute
Nathan after his reincarnation, destroying Air America flight FB
104 on 4 December 2000, and killing him again ten days later. On
the day of his second death Nathan made a deal with Lillian Winter
(Lillith) to save himself from the Joker at the expense of his soul.
Nathan was allowed to time travel and change things. The timeline
changed so that the Joker went after another agent, Henry Devries,
instead of Nathan. However, the Joker realised something was wrong
and suspected that Lillith was somehow playing him. In any event
the time-line was soon returned to normal (see Time
Travel). The mid-west evidence response team would not have
been able to stop the Joker without aid from Archangels Mike and
Gabe (also players in The Game) who gave them a silver dirk that
was capable of slaying him. They engineered a confrontation with
the Joker on 28 January 2001 between the Joker and an enhanced Benedict
Oaxaca. The Joker was permanently destroyed by Benedict. In life,
Joker possessed control over time, powers of invisibility and the
appearance of a traditional demon. See case S89.
Jones (Doctor): Head researcher
at a secret NTOPFOR base, one mile below London. Jones is currently
working on the Signai lifepod liberated from beneath Luxor. He was
encountered by Dominic Rocaan's mid-west agents on 1 September 2001.
Jones, Alice: Proprietess of Alice's
Guest House in Concorde, New Hampshire. She is a known asset
of an eastern European regime, and it is thought that her boarding
house is a centre for espionage. In August 2001, the north-east
team were sent to smoke her out. They were replaced by the mid-west
agents led by McPike on 30 August. See casefile CI0203/NH2.
Jones, Amy: Employee of Alice's
Guest House in Concorde, New Hampshire. See casefile CI0203/NH2.
Jones, Dave "Daffy" (Special
Agent): Sixth victim of the latest Joker killings. Murdered
by the Joker on 16 October 2000. He was plastered into a wall in
Miami, Florida. The corresponding playing card, sent to the mid-west
evidence response team was the 3 of Spades encased in plaster with
a crude crucifix impressed upon it.
Jones, Mathew: Current chief financial
advisor of Dynamicorp. Jones is Winterset born and bred, and attended
Winterset High. He is one of the best accountants in his field (second
only to the incomparable Mike Barnes). Jones trained at Harvard
before moving to Dynamicorp from Wilson and Watts Accountants. His
role entitles him to a 10% stake in the company. See case TL348.
Jones, Penelope
(Special Agent): Second in command of the North-East evidence
response team, based in Augusta, Maine. Penelope is a cartographer
and a survivalist. She is an expert hunter and sniper and spends
her free time slaughtering wild beasties and having them stuffed
for display. A native of Alaska, she gained a doctorate from the
university there and went on to become a special agent. She was
transferred to evidence response after a small accident with a misread
plan, lit match and an Alaskan oil field. Penelope finds the climate
of continental United States far too warm for her liking and has
taken to dressed in inappropriately skimpy attire for the latitude.
Jordan, Harry (Special Agent):
Member of the Critical Response unit based in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
Encountered by the mid-west team during their investigation of case
FB563. Jordan is the team's
forensics expert. He entered their vault on 11 November 2000 following
the inexplicable theft of items.
Joy, Alan (Special Agent): Third
victim of the latest Joker killings. Murdered by the Joker on 10
October 2000. He was roasted to death in an industrial glazing furnace
in Flagstaff, Arizona. The corresponding playing card, sent to the
mid-west evidence response team was the Jack of Hearts, badly blistered
with a heat gun.
Juaress, Elberto: Member of the
brain-bug possessed cult that kidnapped Elayna Lewis in Winterset.
He was killed on 15 November 2000. His car phone was on the speed
dial of a phone recovered from the subterranean office beneath Winterset
on 1 May 2001. See case TL348.
Judge (Special Agent):
Member of the evidence response team assigned to work with Richard
Justice Williams in September 2000. He was shot and killed by agents
of Majestic just hours after his posting when he discovered the
existence of their high-tech warship. Judge was resurrected by Jane
Munroe's wish on 10 June 2000.
Juicy Lucy: Runs a diner in Wichita,
Kansas that is frequented by military personnel from MacConnell
Airforce Base and Special Agent Nathan Harlow.
