USA > Texas > Van Zandt:
- The serial killer Apache Joe strikes again, killing Susie Reddan

Black.
- Nathan Harlow discovers the second card in the Joker case.
- The mid-west team receive a list of new cases.
- They depart for Alabama to investigate case BV004.

- The mid-west agents investigate the neighbourhood in which the
body of Jack Renford was found.
- They send a SWAT team into the home of the infamous Jackson
family: it is a blood bath.
- Rioting begins in the streets, exacerbated by Nathan Harlow
mowing down an innocent black child.
- Harlow is kidnapped and beaten by the crowd before being freed
by police hours later.
- Artemis Black visits the Renford residences and is wigged out
by young Chuck and a zombie.

USA > Alabama > Birmingham:
- The mid-west agents head to the Renford house and confront Chuck
Renford.
- Josh is hospitalised, Artemis goes a bit mad, but Stone takes
out the trash.
Wednesday, 4 October 2000
USA > Alabama > Birmingham:
- While most of the agents are hospitalised Elijah Stone white-washes
case BR056 and destroys the evidence.
- Stone goes on vacation later in the day.
- Artemis Black is sent to Quantico for psychological evaluation.
Thursday, 5 October 2000
USA > Alabama > Birmingham:
- Joshua Blackthorne and Nathan Harlow convalesce in hospital.
USA > Kansas > Wichita:
- Jane Munroe is the only active member of the mid-west team.
- She returns to Wichita and takes an early weekend.
Friday, 6 October 2000
USA > Alabama > Birmingham:
- Joshua Blackthorne remains in hospital in Birmingham.
- In the evening, Nathan Harlow discharges himself and returns
to Wichita.
Saturday, 7 October 2000
USA > Kansas > Wichita:
- Jane returns to work to file her reports. She finds a battered
Nathan sleeping in the dormitory.
- The pair receive a new case (1097-IND) and head to Idaho.
USA > Idaho > Clayton:
- Jane and Nathan are shown around the Prentice farm and enjoy
dinner with the family.
- The Prentices are possessed by brain bugs and try to murder
the agents.
- The farm is destroyed and the surviving Prentices beam up to
a brain bug shuttle.

- The third playing card in the Joker case is delivered to Jane.
- Nathan and Jane are interviewed by the local FBI regarding the
destruction of the Prentice farm.

- The entire mid-west team reconvenes and discusses the Joker
case.

- The agents begin work on case BV004 and investigate the bonded
warehouse.
- The items reported stolen do not match the manifests: Lewis
Sneddon-Small is suspected.
- In the evening, the agents get into a deep discussion regarding
Apache Joe.

- Joshua Blackthorne flies to Quantico after the fourth Joker
card is discovered.
- Artemis, Jane, Elijah and Nathan track down truck-drive Enrique
Solomones.
- Solomones is dead and seems to have summmoned a Vengeance Spirit.
- In the evening Jane discovers the fifty Joker card concealed
in her laptop.

USA > Virginia > Quantico:
- Eisenstein briefs Joshua Blackthorne on the Joker case.
- He orders the mid-west team to New Orleans to help in the case.
- On his return flight to Texas, Blackthorne falls ill with chronic
food poisoning and is returned to Virginia.

USA > Texas > Pasadena:
- Nathan Harlow is called to a computer securities meeting in
Washington.
- The remaining agents trace Solomones's route to a coffee warehouse
in Pasadena.
- This is a front for a massive drugs operation. A major firefight
ensues and many police are killed.
- The drugs are seized and the bad guys defeated, but the agents
are rushed to hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.

- Agents Black, Munroe and Stone recover from their wounds in
hospital.
- They receive word that Joshua Blackthorne's condition has worsened.
Saturday, 14 October 2000
USA > Texas > Pasadena:
- Black, Munroe and Stone are discharged from hospital and continue
their investigations.
- The coffee house is a dead end, and they plan to move against
the guilty parties in Texas.

- With their warrants in order, the agents arrest Sneddon-Small,
plus Fenner and Madison in Houston.
- The agents hear that all operations are a success.

- The seventh Joker card is delivered to Artemis Black.
- It was intended for Joshua Blackthrone, but was intercepted.

- Artemis, Jane and Elijah return to Brownsville and are reunited
with Nathan Harlow.
- Elijah Stone takes some medical leave and heads for Tahiti.
- Reece Romero of Inspection Division arrives to discuss the Joker
case. She has a letter from the Joker.
- Artemis agrees to come to New Orleans and help in the light
of this threat.
- Lewis Sneddon-Small is promised witness protection for his cooperation.
- Leaving Jane to sort this out, Artemis, Nathan and Agent Romero
fly to see Damian Snapes.

- At 00:15 the Joker strikes. He murders three agents (including
Nathan Harlow). Artemis barely escapes with his life.
- Artemis calls in the local FBI and then tells Jane.

- Jane hears the whole story when the plane touches down. She
immediately charters another plane for New Orleans.
- Jane tries to contact Joshua Blackthorne, but he is currently
in a meeting.

- Jane arrives at 05:30 and receives the eighth, ninth and tenth
Joker cards.
- After trying to get into the crime scene, Jane goes to a local
motel and finds a shaken Artemis.
- They speak about all the events of the last day before getting
some rest.
- In the evening Jane learns that Josh has been rushed back into
hospital.

USA > Virginia > Quantico:
- Joshua Blackthorne discharges himself from hospital.
- At his hotel, he has a long conversation with Nathan Harlow
(not realising Harlow is dead, Josh doesn't find this odd).
- Jane telephones Josh and tells him what happened.
- At a loss to reconcile these events, Josh immediately heads
for New Orleans.

- Josh arrives and speaks with Artemis and Jane.
- They are interrupted by Elise Steiger, Nathan's replacement.
Josh asks her to wait in the lobby.
- Elise has a conversation with Nathan Harlow.
- News of this gives Josh afreak psychotic episode (later diagnosed
as megalomania).
- Artemis manges to confront the ghost of Harow, but Nathan refuses
to accept that he is dead.
- Nathan is convinced the agents have "missed something"
in the Joker case.
- Leaving Artemis he goes and speaks with the official FBI team
who shoot him.
- Convinced that he is a spirit, Nathan flees the scene.
