The Brief
Following the end of the Second World War a corpse was discovered
in the sewers of Los Angeles. It had been riddled with bullets of
an unknown origin and composition. The hands of the corpse had also
been removed. The mystery was eventually passed to the west coast
evidence response team who studiously ignored it. After the time
travelling events of 16 December 2000, the mid-west team put together
the truth of the matter. Here is what really happened.
The Facts
In order to close a time door connecting the year 2000 to 1941
Nathan Harlow stepped through. Mass between the two ends of the
tunnel was equalised and Harlow was killed. He saved himself by
making a deal with the demonic Lillian Winter. This was extremely
ill-considered as it led to the deaths of many innocent people over
the following fifty-nine years including special agents Henry Devries,
Jane Munroe and Jack Burchill as well as the Nathan Harlow's infant
self from another timeline.
In order to stop this insanity special agents Bradley Ecks and
Todd O'Connell re-opened the time door and travelled back to 1941
to moments before Nathan arrived in the time period. They took the
super-charged Nathan unawares and emptied several hundred rounds
of high-velocity ammunition into him. They could not take his body
back with them to the present because of the mass problem so so
they left it in the sewers. They did however remove the hands so
the body could not be identified.
Because this was not a major alteration to the time line, the time
line adapted and absorbed the changes - hence the appearance of
the case on the west coast team's books.
Unanswered Questions
- None - which is hardly surprising as evidence response not only
solved this case, they were also the instigators, the perpetrators
and the victim.
