Alex was a high flying and prominent FBI agent on the fast track
route through the system well on his way to greater things until
an incident at a garage where the rest of the evidence response
team stumbled across him via time travel, blew up the garage (mostly
by accident) before returning to the future leaving him to take
the blame for it and pick up the pieces.
His transfer to evidence response quickly followed. During his
time at evidence response Drake experienced many things, and picked
up a love for driving from Birchall although a little lacking in
the skill department. He purchased a lovely sports car from winterset
and accidentally used a wish on it getting the best warranty ever.
His car even followed him to the afterlife when he died (and came
back again when Jane revived him). He later went on to acquire a
monster truck but failed to get much use out of it due to extreme
protest from other members of the team.
He had a love for tasers and small arms, being by far the most
proficient on the team with pistols and equally with tasers. Although
his luck isn't the greatest at times which resulted in him tasering
his team more often than not.
During his time with evidence response he also had a run-in with
a white necromancer who possessed him for a time and awakened Drake's
interest in magic and started a personal quest to learn magic. He
was ultimately unsuccessful but tried nonetheless.
After a series of deaths and subsequent revivals (mostly at the
hands of Jane) Drake is currently dead after taking a grenade for
the team by tasering it out of the air at an abandoned farm house,
saving Jane's life.

for Alex since joining the mid-west evidence response team. Please
see the Timeline to place these incidents in context.

Once rescued he goes after them with their own assault rifle and
succeeds in bringing down their heavily armoured military helicopter.
Only after the event, with a dozen heavily armed and annoyed commandos
rushing in his general direction, did it occur to him this was a
bad idea.
11 December 2000
Badly wounded in struggle with Oscar Ross. Later the victim of
a grenade attack by Ukrainian commandos. He is admitted to hospital
in Casper, but forced to remain in the city even after the conclusion
of the case as various military and intelligence agencies attempt
to get to the bottom of the matter of the Ukrainian attack helicopter.
Fortunately, this is Artemis Black's problem.

the most junior member of the mid-west team.
24-25 December 2000

Philip McKraken. He and McKraken are in Temple watching the potential

Drake is wounded and calls in back-up, but McKraken is shot and
killed by the serial killer. Drake is wounded again in the fight
that finally brings Apache Joe down and is whisked away to hospital.
8 January 2000
Drake is released from hospital and returns to Wichita.

days.
