Choosing a character class is to most important decision a player
makes. Character classes defines the role your character takes in
the game. Yes, it is a bit simplistic and it's probably far more
realistic to do away with character classes entirely and have a
purely skills based system, but then that wouldn't be D&D.
Each class grants your character a number of abilities and bonuses
to your base attack bonus and saving throws that increase as you
gain levels. You can multiclass between classes to gain advantages
from more than one class. If you meet the prerequisites you can
multi-class into a prestige class that are slightly more powerful
than normal classes, but also significantly more specialised.
This section presents the various changes to the rules I have made
to character classes. There have been quite a few changes, mainly
this has been necessitated by my changes to the magic system. Entries
in this section are divided into:
Normally character can only select one core class at level one.
However, it is possible to take two classes at first level as long
as both are apprentice level. Follow the link for the section on
Apprentice-level characters.
