This website, and the Iourn campaign setting, was launched to coincide
with the release of third edition Dungeons and Dragons. After years
of playing the second edition game, I was looking forward to a more
coherent and rationalised game system, that was freer and more forgiving
than its predecessor. I was not disappointed. Third edition delivered
all it had promised and with it, my players and I built some truly
memorable characters and campaigns. But time marches on. Eight years
after the release of third edition, D&D is to go through another
metamorphosis. What does this mean? Can Iourn survive such a change.
In this section of the website I intended to add comment to the
news that has set many online message boards alight, to review the
4e pre-releases, and the new core rule books when they arrive. However,
I soon decided that a blog format would be much better than a website
for conveying this information. All the pages that were here have
been moved to my new blog which has been updated really quite frequently
(at least for me).
